What is Baton Twirling?  Twirling combines dance, agility, coordination, flexibility, gymnastics, and many more factors while manipulating a single or multiple batons. This discipline requires the simultaneous blending of these fundamental characteristics, utilizing time and space to display both technical merit and artistic expression. It is a great sport for anyone interested in learning coordination, team work, flexibility, showmanship, and presentation skills. Baton twirlers (also known as majorettes) can compete in local, state, regional, national, and world competitions. Many twirling groups also perform in parades and community events. Twirlers can frequently be seen with High School and Collegiate marching bands as "Feature Twirlers".
